E-Vitations can be very tricky because of security and settings of peoples email inboxes. There are ways to create E-vitations, E-cards and Newsletters that can safely reach people's inbox and maintain the visual aspects of your invitation, card or newsletter that you intended.
E-vitations are so useful because they save on the cost of printing and stationary, are better for the environment and also allow much more functionality than a traditional invitation.
Some of the e-vitations I have made in the past have included features that allow the guest to rsvp directly from their email, add the event directly into the calendar, click to see the guest list, click to see who else is attending, click for interactive map, click for additional information like parking information and more. It is also much easier to inform all attendees of changes to the event if they occur.
